Regina Harris is best known for her work with Matthew Barney and Marilyn Minter.
Born in New York, she spent her childhood traveling with her flamenco dancer mother, attending 11 schools in four states. She then studied fine art and photography at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston before spending the formative years of her career in London, working with the young John Galliano and for such influential style magazines as The Face and i-D. In a career mixing fashion and fine art makeup, her work has run from natural faces to prosthetics, such as the one she made for Barney’s Cremaster series. She launched her own line of perfume oils at Barneys in 2004, and is also an accomplished belly dancer.
