While heading up to the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx can sometimes seem like quite a trek, this multi-layered exhibition is well worth the journey. Exploring O’Keeffe’s three-month trip to Hawaii in 1939, it includes: a gallery of her paintings from the island; an ephemera-laden analysis of the plants she painted; a film revisiting the letters sent between her (read by Sigourney Weaver) and her husband; an illustrated travelogue; and a tropical plant tour through one of the conservatories. - LMH
