The ladies are not giant promoters of over-the-top holiday gift giving. Perhaps because we are a mash-up of exacting (i.e., picky), loathing of clutter (i.e., hovering around the borders of OCD), wise (i.e., old), and Yankee (i.e., penny-pinching), we like gifts that are small tokens, that make us smile, are experiential or make us feel like kids again. We would like to recommend before anything material, time with one another is the rarest of all gifts. In a stressful year, fraught in so many ways, an afternoon of lunch and a long catch-up with pretty much anyone we love, blows away any more material gesture. If that isn’t possible, here are a few ideas to wrap up and give to a lady friend. - SRW
